Sports

Many of young people are going in for sports: skiing and hiking (picturesque volcanic slopes are at one’s disposal), fishing and fighting. Fishing is worth talking about. In ancient times the Japanese had fishing with tame cormorants. The fishing took place at night. The fishermen were sitting in the boat, lit torches, in order to attract fish. Each cormorant neck was intercepted by a flexible collar, which did not allow cormorants swallow prey.

A very popular sport is Sumo. Heavy fighters are trying to force his opponent to touch the body of the earth. The action usually lasts seconds. Nevertheless, the fighters spend long hours preparing for competition with the help of special exercises and rituals. People like this kind of sport.
The winner of the main sumo tournament gets a very special prize. He was presented with the keys to a new car, an annual supply of gasoline, 1,000 mushrooms, beef, weighing one cow and supply of Coca-Cola for a year.
