People are fond of dancing in the volcanic Japan. Perhaps, it is a volcano that inspires
them to dance and to tell the whole world about the wonders of the islands.
In Japanese, Bue means “dance”. The Japanese dancers train
for many years. Movements are very graceful and accompanied by shamisen – trichord,
an instrument resembling a lute. The dance tells a particular story and
describes the wonders of the islands. The oldest Japanese dance is Kagura,
which has its origin from the myth about the dance of the goddess Ame-no
Udzume, with which it lured from the Heavenly Goddess Amaterasu Grotto
Omeka. All Shinto temple dances evolved from Kagura, and its influence
can still be seen in the theatrical dance, especially in the dances of
Kabuki.
